Quotes

Weeds are flowers I have to paint.

“Weeds are flowers, too, once you get to know them.” ~A.A. Milne

These my have grown in the field in front of my house in Vermont but in my mind they were glorious wildflowers.

Bright summer botanical garden or wildflowers beam out at you off the paper. Cheery happy and spirit lifting for a summer farmhouse cottage.

My watercolor technique is glazing a process where I layer pigments on top of each other creating depth and realism in my paintings. This painting has up to 10 layers. I love the opaqueness and luminosity I achieve so that the flowers make you want to reach out and touch them.

Quotes

Foxglove watercolor, a pink delight.

The artist is a receptacle for emotions that come from all over the place: from the sky, from the earth, from a scrap of paper, from a passing shape, from a spider’s web.   Pablo Picasso

Original iris nature art watercolor painting, a botanical garden watercolor is a garden landscape by mature artist, Laurie Rohner.

My painting is a realistic detailed painting of blue iris against dark green leaves and stems. These iris are from the iris gardens in Northern NJ. Imagine a spring day sunny with a gentle breeze and along the back bank of the garden stands hundreds of this wild iris moving back and forth as if dancing to nature’s music. It is one thing I miss about New Jersey.

If everyone did exactly what they want to do?

Hypothetically, people worry about everyone being selfishly oriented. “If everyone did exactly what they want to do, what kind of world would this be?” And we say, a really, really good one. Because if everyone did what they wanted to do, everyone would feel free. And if you feel free, you feel empowered. And every negative emotion that exists—hear this—every negative emotion that exists is because there is some sense of loss of freedom somewhere in there.

Be bold in the dreams that you dream for yourself.

Many think success means getting everything I want. And we say, that’s what dead is, and there is no such thing as that kind of dead. Success is not being done; not being complete. Success is still dreaming and feeling positive in the unfolding. —Abraham Hicks

Success at least my vision of success is always changing and evolving. When I discovered this quote by a favorite spiritual being I felt I had to share it with everyone. How many times do we get stuck in the misguided concept that you have to get to the end to start again and only by getting to the end do we succeed? Boring. By changing the vision and adding and deleting things as life pulls you along is the thrill of life. I guess when you do not think this way it is what people refer to as feeling dead inside. Death while living should never be your goal. Shine bright everyone.

Why not start improving your life now?

Make up your mind that nothing is more important than how I feel now, because now is everything. Now is the whole enchilada. Now is the power of me. Now, now, now, now, now… You might as well start somewhere, and it might as well be now. Why not start improving your life now, now, now?  – Abraham Hicks

Starting the day food shopping is a great way to feel defeated and aggravated.  The prices are ridiculously high and I can never seem to find what I want from week to week because the store has moved it or decided to not stock the product anymore. Today was no different from any other time and when I finished putting everything away I read this quote. Sometimes you are not read to see and feel and understand the answer the universe is giving us. Within one single delightful moment I understood with heart beaming light out into my world. The answer is me, the answer is you, the answer is the question. How do I feel now and I choose to feel fabulous.

Wanted to share this thought and hope you find the switch to turn on the good feelings so the bad feelings start to dwindle and melt away. I also want to share with you another little work of nature art I have available at Laurie Rohner Studio‘s Between The Weeds Store. I have art for all in varying price ranges and sizes.

Nature Art Botanical Garden Flower Watercolor Original Painting Pink Amaryllis.

Large botanical watercolor painting of a large Pink Amaryllis garden flower is an original nature art hand painted by Laurie Rohner. This painting is elegant and a dramatic work of art.

The bloom is from a bulb I received for a gift one year which I then incorporated the bloom of the flower into a dramatic background of lush jungle greens. I wanted to make this botanical flower gem stand out almost trumpeting its existence at the viewer. A fabulous wonderful work of art for serious botanical nature art collectors.
