Here are two great quotes to share. Take a walk in the woods and enjoy nature this summer. Disconnect from all the gadgets and enjoy. It is cheap and easy to do.
Can you believe it? Can you believe it is Earth Day which is one of my favorite days because I work outside in the garden (weather permitting) and dig in the dirt feeling the soil under my nails and the smell of the earth fill my lungs. That is heaven in my world.
BUT I want to know when did loving this earth and nature become a dirty word? It was noble to work with your hands and nurture nature. People thought twice before chopping down a 200-year-old tree. Somehow today that is not the situation.
At the end of my street someone chopped down all the sell-able lumber trees and the small saplings were piled in huge piles to rot. Later I found out the person who owns the land needed some quick cash and sold the trees for lumber. I don’t know about you but when I see a landscape destroyed and left in chaos I get a horrible feeling in the pit of my stomach.
As you drive along the country roads I see too much garbage. While living in Vermont this was something you rarely find. I travel with garbage bags and pick up the recyclable to bring back to my home to discard. So again I ask why is it easier to throw it out the window and not in your garbage can? Is it because being in love with nature not a good thing?
We hear about climate (whatever) and nobody thinks maybe if we left the trees standing things would be better? Why cut a tree down to build a home when there is a perfectly wonderful home ready to be updated and loved again?
Yes I do think nature is a beautiful word and maybe we should nurture nature and in turn nature nurtures us. We all have to learn to co-exist. In stead of looking down at the pad of your phone try looking around at the beauty of nature. Enjoy! Revel in nature’s wonderment.
Your choices of action may be limited—but your choices of thought are not.
What thought do you hold in your heart every day and night? Is it good? Does it make you feel energized? Hold your thoughts safe today and they will blossom tomorrow good or bad so be careful what it is you focus on.
There is not one thing more thrilling than discovering a new and wonderful part of your self. The familiar energy you feel when you meet an old friend again after years apart only to find you start up exactly where you had left off. Or the wild electrified yet peaceful energy of a hike or walk in the woods alone or with a friend, human or animal. For me the energy of nature has made a big play for my attention for some time and it is like an old friend coming back into my life, this time to stay. I am finding little treats gifts from fairies all around.
For the longest of time I have believed in realms that coexists to ours and fairies nymphs sprites and nature spirits travel back and forth. I also believe the bodies we see are not our true selves but the energy propelling us through the Universe trapped inside these vessels most definitely is who we are. Tap into the ancient energy flow that exists within all of us is the uniting thread between all things and between Spirit and Nature.
Fascinated with the realm of fairies, my creating woodland fairy houses is a gift of gratitude back to these wonderful beings many think of as being fantasy. I spend hours making and cutting the branches so they fit together with notches. Building with no plan but the inspiration nature and the energy coming from the branches provides and found items I have collected on my walks. Time disappears for me in the studio and I am blissfully content working.
If you have some time please come and visit my fairy house studio here at Laurie Rohner Studio. Briar, fairy consultant and dear friend. Tucker, my furry companion, and myself hope you enjoy the visit.
The thought that you think, you think, which attracts to it; so you think it some more, which attracts to it; so you think it some more. In other words, when you have an expectation, you’ve got a dominant thought going on, and Law of Attraction is going to deliver that to you again, and again and again. And you say “The reason that I believe this, is because it is true.” And we say, the reason that you believe it, is because you’ve practiced the thought. All that a belief is, is a thought that you keep practicing.
What is the dominant thought you have about your self? your life? your work? your ability to succeed? Think long and answer truthfully and if the answer does not align to what you want/desire change the thought and belief. This is why affirmations are great because with practice you change your belief.
All these questions swirling in my head, looking at my life and being convinced it is all not going my way, not even a bit. Tired of getting up in the morning and by nights end glad to see the day ending. I have felt as if my life was wrong, in limbo, as if I stood just a second off of what reality should be. Caught in a Dr. Who scene or time warp but definitely disconnected from me. Re-connecting has been tricky. Slowly I am answering these questions because the answers are not outside of me, no one can give them to me, but within. Nothing has done this to me, only I have done this to me, which was the first answer. When I discovered all my thinking about my life is wrong than I can switch to all that I can think is right. Things I viewed not working are being illuminated with solutions.
It is horrible to be broken into pieces. The one thing I know, if you stick with it you will discover the answer within you and life will change. All the problems in the world are outside and you can allow them in or not. You can create your world the way you feel, emotionally and logically, your way. That is it. No big message or purpose to discover, think how light you feel now.
Realizing the more I thought my life, closer to the point, me was broken, the greater the strain and guilt I felt because inadvertently I created this life. Just as any habit is hard to break free from this type of thinking may be even more difficult to learn. Implementing daily I find is the only way to correct what has become a lifetime bad habit.
The turning point was a dream. I talked with my wonderful now passed over Mom and she was standing in a field of wildflowers, the scent in the air was her Windsong perfume and there beside her were the boys, two dogs as they had so many times before, waiting for me to greet them. An intense feeling came over me of warmth and love, and in my head I could hear everything being said, like a computer being downloaded with info. Her eyes were a brilliant blue and her hair was wavy and blew in the breeze. I did not want to leave. There was a pop of light and I was back here and Tucker (my dog) snoring gently on the floor. It took several days to sort everything out.
She, my dogs, all those who have lived before me are here and if I would just stop getting in the way I can feel them around me. Since I have worked on grounding and connecting to the energy flows, angels and spirit guides, my energy is up and my creativity is sky rocketing. The biggest problem now is there is not enough of it, time.
Messages from spirit are important and we seem to make little of these signs saying it is in our heads or imagination. The dream was real, making the message important and given for a reason. Listen feel and believe what you feel in your heart because all is heard on the other side, which is one step over.
Something to ponder from my favorite beings Abraham Hicks.
You are magnificent beings, in the perfect place at the perfect time, unfolding perfectly, never getting it done, and never getting it wrong. Be more playful about all of it. “Today, no matter where I’m going, no matter what I am doing, and no matter who I’m doing it with — it is my dominant intent to look for that which I’m wanting to see. I’m wanting to find thoughts and words and actions that feel good while I’m finding them. For in doing so, I am, in the moment, practicing the art of allowing all that I’ve been telling the Universe I’m wanting, for all of the days of my existence
Today’s little inspirational thought for you to ponder. Life is your canvas; no one can paint it but you. Each moment is an invitation to create yourself and the life you’ve imagined. Too often we wait for the “big” occasion or “just the right moment” to celebrate life. Your days are just waiting to be enriched with creative thought, joyful purpose, and inspired meaning.

There are no choices that are really a detour that will take you far from where you’re wanting to be — because your Inner Being is always guiding you to the next, and the next, and the next. So don’t be concerned that you may make a fatal choice, because there aren’t any of those. You are always finding your balance. It’s a never ending process.
I am always questioning whether I am heading in the right direction or making the proper choice for me and the ones I care for. When I read this from Abraham Hicks I thought the nest time I am troubled with a decision I can remember there is no fatal choice and by listening and balancing my thoughts I will be guided. It is nice to know though we feel alone in our thoughts we never really are. See where the detour is taking you because you could end up on a beautiful tropical island.
“We tend to forget that happiness doesn’t come as a result of getting something we don’t have, but rather of recognizing and appreciating what we do have.”
Vermont oil painting of a scenic mountain landscape is original nature art hand painted by Laurie Rohner titled Pastures Below Mt. Mansfield. A realistic Vermont landscape is an original oil painting.
A summer scene of picturesque Vermont depicting Mount Mansfield in the distance and a wonderful Vermont farmhouse and barn in the foreground. I painted this pastoral landscape with detailed realism, the richness of the pasture in direct contrast to the image of the mountain peak in the distance. My use of color draws the viewer into the painting where you discover the quaint farmhouse and the barn on the ridge.

“Most people do not realize that as they continue to find things to complain about, they disallow their own physical well-being. Many do not realize that before they were complaining about an aching body or a chronic disease, they were complaining about many other things first. It does not matter if the object of your complaint is about someone you are angry with, behavior in others that you believe is wrong, or something wrong with your own physical body. Complaining is complaining, and it disallows improvement.” – Esther Hicks
Think about how your body feels when you complain. Constricted, tight, achy, low energy, heavy, a general feeling of malaise and now think of how your body feels when you stop and focus on what you like in your life. Maybe it is your mate, partner, child, pet, job, you and see how you feel. Are you open, loving, happy, joyful, adventurous, playful, a feeling of contentment and satisfaction? When you are feeling this everything in your life is right. So why do we all insist on focusing so much time and energy complaining about what is wrong? I have not a clue and I bet you would agree. So now stop complaining and start feeling good about life and about you.
Today I wanted to share with you a little watercolor that makes me feel good. I hope it makes you feel good too.
