Nature Art Botanical Watercolor Pink Amaryllis

Watercolor Nature Art by Laurie Rohner
Watercolor Nature Art by Laurie Rohner

Large botanical watercolor painting of a large Pink Amaryllis garden flower is an original nature art hand painted by Laurie Rohner. This painting is elegant and a dramatic work of art.

The bloom is from a bulb I received for a gift one year which I then incorporated the bloom of the flower into a dramatic background of lush jungle greens. I wanted to make this botanical flower gem stand out almost trumpeting its existence at the viewer. A fabulous wonderful work of art for serious botanical nature art collectors.

Title: Dramatic in Pink
Medium: Watercolor on Paper
Palette: deep green, pink, coral pink, poppy red, soft yellow, white, cream, minty green.
Paper Type: 140lb rag hand molded watercolor paper
Paper Size: 30 x 22 inches
Image size: 30 x 22 inches
Signature: Laurie Rohner on front, title signed date on verso.
Unframed.

I paint using a process called glazing. It is layering pigments down on top of each other building depth of pigment and emotion through color. The process is labor and time intensive. This painting took about 56hrs to complete. There are about 10 layers of pigment on this painting.

All rights are not transferable with the purchase of this painting and stay with the artist.

Let me introduce myself, I am Laurie Rohner. I like to think of myself as a creator builder and designer of beautiful functional art. My work encompasses many different medium including watercolor oil and acrylic painting on paper canvas and wood. When I create my art I feel a synergy between myself and nature and that energy or spirit is infused into my work. I often think I am not the one creating but the vessel in which the creation comes forth.

Awareness is the magic key.

“You are very powerful, provided you know how powerful you are.” ~Yogi Bhajan

Awareness is the magic key. Once you are aware of this, you can change it. Once you can see that you are self-sabotaging yourself, you can choose to deepen your spiritual practices. This will energize you and increase your faith, helping you take action, which always leads to a more fulfilling reality.

Discovering the flaws and obstacles you have put up in front of you allows you to move and change direction. My own course was to follow a spiritual path. I read everything I could yet the obstacles and barriers remained. Not only remained but got bigger and harder to move around and finally caused me to stop on my life journey. I am the type of person who keeps going and to stop or give up is very hard because I feel when this happens in my life I have somehow failed or am flawed, self doubting, not deserving of where I am heading.

What I want or desire I was taught was not allowed. Hard work and a lot of it was necessary to succeed and if you did not succeed than there was something wrong with you. I fought daily with my inner demons only to find more demons to conquer. I was taught a fit all religion made to believe like the group and that religion was the ‘one’ that mattered and was right. Until last week everything changed in how I observed my life.

I spent several years meditating and looking for answers why things turned out the way they had and finding not one answer in all the moments of being quiet. I had turned away from religion and found I could live life nicely without the restraints of religions. In doing so I also had shut the door to God and this was never the intention. Then three things happened and I found myself completely aware that I needed the connection to God and through that connection all religions stem because God is all those religions just with different faces or in simpler terms different outfits. God is the bird that soars above, the tree shedding its leaves, the flower bringing forth another remarkable flower and the different people God has come here to show us a better path.  God is inside you and all you need do is to answer that connection with a hello, how can I serve. Serving yourself the best you can is serving God and then in turn you are serving the world and the universe and on it will go.

You can create a better life. Start by being aware of how you treat yourself. You can pray, meditate, practice affirmations, and ask your inner guidance for help.

Strawberries Watercolor Nature Art Painting Botanical Garden Original Artwork

Painted vintage metal bowl furnishing with red cherries and checker board pattern in black and white on a black painted farmhouse cottage chic metal vintage sifter. The vintage metal sifter is primed and then painted black and bright red cherries decorate the outside with a black and white checkerboard around the bottom rim. This is the old way people used to sift their flour, imagine that.

Use it as a fruit bowl but I think it is great to hold a potted plant or soaps or candles or bills notes or keys. The uses are as many as you can think.

It is sealed with a lacquer.

It measures 8″ in diameter, 3.5″ high and has a 4″handle.
The bottom is 4.5″ wide.
