Inspirational, Laurie Rohner, Quotes, Thoughts are energy

Let’s clean up our energy.

I am a big believer in the field of energy always swirling around us, through us, and emitting from us. Thoughts actions and nature makes up part of the field. What is believed in our minds and hearts can manifest in our lives and world – good or bad. In effect bad things do not happen they are created by ourselves or others. There is no random cause and effect. So once I absorbed the thought, idea and wisdom of this new concept  – for me that is – I started receiving different information about how to live differently.

The very first action anyone should do is clean up your thoughts. It is amazing how the people and your life changes. The toxic people tend to start to disappear. In their place comes interesting new wonderful people. I found nature even changed. Birds start to show up around the house which is something I love. Best of all is you feel lighter and better about you.

Second is clean your home. Get rid of all that stuff cluttering your life. It only holds you down. How can you fly under all that weight?

Your Wings Exist Fly

The next action I do is take a white candle and burn it. I visualize what I envision my life. From that flame I light a white sage smudge stick and walk around my house asking my guide and angels to guide me, protect me and to release all negative energies from my life. I love the smell of sage but opening up some windows helps to move the negative energy out. Be sure to work counterclockwise and smudge all windows doors and each level of your home. End your smudging with thanking your guide and angels, bless the energies a safe and wonderful journey and stub out the sage smudge stick.

Happy cleaning!

On the other side is a fairy computer and tablet with a few old-fashioned books in the corner set upon a drift wood table with chair. The floor has a natural woven rug and on the back wall are cedar panels.

The roof is from branches and strewn across are pebbles, cones, sea glass, and raffia in a bow.

Pine cone frame the window on solid cedar wood.

The sides and back also have decorative cone shingles. I glue each and every piece you see in place by hand.

This is a custom handmade woodland fairy house sculpted from wood pine cones sea glass pebbles and natural finds.

Sharing some warmth during these cold days.

Woodland Winter Tree Landscape
Woodland Winter Tree Landscape

So how is everyone doing this year in 2015? In the northeast my heart does go out to you. I remember when living in NJ around 1993-94 (not sure of years) there was a similar weather pattern happening and the snow kept coming down. I not only shoveled by hand my drive but then hiked up the hill to shovel out my parents. They were both retired Dad with high blood pressure and Mom too much like me born with the attitude if it has to get done then do it. Still have the same attitude and proud of that gift she gave me. Anyway, it became a game to find where I could throw the snow since the piles were now way above my head. I also remember the camaraderie between neighbors all doing what we could to help each other. Knowing the Bostonian heart well I am sure that camaraderie is alive and well today in your town.

Better sunny days are coming.

Happy Days!

Today in North Carolina it is warmer but by tonight I will be in temperatures I saw in Vermont. Heating systems are not capable of handling such drastic temperatures. Mine has been working overtime with the cold morning temps and found out yesterday I needed oil for the back up system. Well the last time I ordered oil since switching my system to the heat pump was two years ago but now no oil in the tank for back up. Ugh! Called the oil company and the very nice gentleman said there was no way he could make it to my place until next week. Oh No! Then he said listen to me there is something you can do. Go down get a 5 gallon can and fill it with diesel fuel. You can add that to your tank and it will be fine. Bless that man because I did, added several 5 gallon cans and this morning when I turned up my heat on came the warmth.

Help each other if you can and if you cannot help a smile works wonders along with thank you.

Stay warm!

Today. Today I embrace my intuition.

This year started with a feeling that this was going to be a grand year, full of new exciting profitable projects and selling my studio home. It is November and I still am waiting for someone to buy this home. I am still waiting to sink my teeth into that new exciting project. I am still living in a place called limbo town. With each hour day and month I have grown more anxious and fearful that my timeline won’t be met. I wake every morning with hope seeking for an answer only to flop into the bed at night totally exhausted and stressed. My body aches from the stress and my mind is on its own continuous loop never disengaging making getting a good nights sleep not so possible. Yet today I got up thinking today is different. Today is different because it is today.

Today I stop waiting. Today I start doing. Today I start allowing. Today I stop controlling. Today is new and exciting. Today is the project I have searched for starts to give birth. Today when I fall into bed I will be tired not from stress and dreams unrealized but from working and creating in complete synergy of my life. No restrictions. Today I am co-creating my story.

No more thinking it through or is this being realistic? Being realistic and thinking it through got me to this point and well that did not work out to well for me. Today I embrace my intuition, my soul whispers, the little signs you only see when you stop pretending they are not there. Today my belief in the divine plan exists is my guide. Today it all begins, an epic journey, is today your today?

Quotes

And the veil gets thinner.

I love this time of year and not just because the leaves shine in an array of gorgeous color. Number one reason is I love ghosts, spooky things that go bump in the night  and whispers you hear in the air. This is the time of year when the veil between our realities gets thinner. You catch a glimpse of a shadow in the corner of your eye and tell yourself it was nothing. Maybe you hear someone talking low and barely audible only to say it must be coming from outside or next door but of course some reason certainly not a spirit or ghost. This is a common occurrence in my world and I have come to accept it as normal. I think you would call that being an Intuit but it is just being a bit more sensitive to energy around you.  I also have great respect for the things I cannot see and never play around with spirit games such as séance and Ouija  boards. I accept their presence it is real. I think of these spirits as guides ancestors and angels and they are here to aid and help us. It is only when you open the portals and gates to dark negative energies that negative spirit enters. Unfortunately it is not a game and the negative energy can now hang out and play. I wonder if you know how many spirits and guides are with you at this moment? You may be surprised.

Don’t let anything stop you from finding a solution.

Today my monitor for my computer went out. First it works, then it doesn’t. Since I am not a computer savvy person at all not in the least bit and usually end up making things worst I was very upset. This is my life and everything I need to do is on this stupid machine. Anxious annoyed and getting madder by the minute because I did not have the money right now to buy a new monitor. Not only that but have held off upgrading my system till after I moved.

Why?

I knew I had to relax and though I was upset the solution was probably right in front of my face, which it was.

Is it perfect, no. Is it keeping me working and doing what is necessary for my work, oh yes. I have an old relic of a computer that had pictures on it I had meant to copy and load to my newer computer but never got around to doing so. When I was finished I intended to give the old computer to an organization. It is amazing my tardiness is what saved me with this recent dilemma. The old monitor is what I am using now. Not the fabulous LED 22 inch monitor but an old relic and it is fine.

My little fabulous old monitor.

What I am reminded is first how our society is connected in ways we mostly never think twice about. All our work and everything needed to interact with each other is in a machine. When we cannot use it – withdrawal.  Secondly when hit with a problem relax. The problem isn’t going anywhere but the solution needs to be birthed into your consciousness. It took most of my day to see an answer. Just plug in the monitor and see if it works. Wow, it did.

Now the last thing I have to mention is how I view the sites I have changed. I wonder how others see my sites? Is this the way a tablet or laptop sees them?

This is how I see the world Trees Forests Nature and Sunshine.

Path to the Birches Oil on Canvas.

We get so locked into the way we view our own world is this the way everyone sees it? Each of us look through eyes but see differently and I for one love that concept. I know I see the world with the eyes of a slightly a skewed artistic world. Never feel I fit in and like that I don’t. In many ways I feel like the outdated monitor I am looking at right now, old discarded but still has lots of life and usefulness. This little monitor I see now with different eyes. Grateful it is still here to help me see a brighter world.

Don’t stop looking for the solution to a problem, the answer will come.

What is new at Between The Weeds? Pet portraits.

Have a portrait painted of your loved pet.

I am working on paintings for the studio. This is so exciting. I am now working on pet portraits. I am having a blast. The house smells with oil paints and the creative energy is soaring. I really can say I have never met an animal I did not like. Humans too many but dogs cats pigs sheep cows horses lion and tigers and bears, oh my, never ever.

Recently I had this amazing person pop into my life and instantly liked her. She lives with a menagerie of animals secretly I am jealous because I would love to live surrounded by furry feathered friends. I do draw a line with reptiles, especially snakes. She told me she had just lost her dog. The love she had for her dog beamed out from every pore and you could also feel the sadness. I was immediately touched and knew I would have to do something.

I had been frustrated with my shop and what I was doing with my art. I had toyed with the idea to start painting pet portraits again. The next time I saw this new found friend I mentioned about my interest in getting back to painting pets and would she like one in memory of her dog? One thing led to another and I am working on a portrait.

But to get the muscle exercised I worked first on a smaller portrait of a very special guy in my life. His name was Woody, or Sweet Woodruff his pedigree name. Woody was my spirit dog. He always could tell what I was thinking and there was not a day he did not give me all the love and joy he could muster.

portrait of Woody from photo

This is a 10 x 10 inch stretched canvas original oil painting I did from a photo of Woody. I chose to use blues purples highlighted with orange, yellow and light blue. To create the depth I used Paynes Gray with a touch of Umber and Ultramarine Blue. What gives this portrait the emotion and spirit is the eye (or eyes). I start with the eyes and work the rest in from there. The painting is finished with detailing around the eye (s) and highlights were needed.

This is a close up of the face.

Would you like a portrait painted of you pet? Various sizes can be done in many mediums. I am now working on oil paintings and pricing is flexible depending on the subject. How it works is simple. You supply a favorite photo showing your animal and half of the agreed amount of painting. Add a brief story about your pet and I will paint a painting. About 3/4 through the painting I will send you a shot of the work in progress for your approval. Once OK’d I will add the detail work and make any adjustments. When it is finished and waiting to dry so I can varnish the painting you send the last payment. The painting is shipped to you ready to hang along with your photos (if you sent them by snail mail).

Discovering a new and wonderful part of your self.

Woodland fairy houses by laurierohner.com
Do you believe there is more?

There is not one thing more thrilling than discovering a new and wonderful part of your self. The familiar energy you feel when you meet an old friend again after years apart only to find you start up exactly where you had left off. Or the wild electrified yet peaceful energy of a hike or walk in the woods alone or with a friend, human or animal. For me the energy of nature has made a big play for my attention for some time and it is like an old friend coming back into my life, this time to stay. I am finding little treats gifts from fairies all around.

For the longest of time I have believed in realms that coexists to ours and fairies nymphs sprites and nature spirits travel back and forth. I also believe the bodies we see are not our true selves but the energy propelling us through the Universe trapped inside these vessels most definitely is who we are. Tap into the ancient energy flow that exists within all of us is the uniting thread between all things and between Spirit and Nature.

Fascinated with the realm of fairies, my creating woodland fairy houses is a gift of gratitude back to these wonderful beings many think of as being fantasy. I spend hours making and cutting the branches so they fit together with notches. Building with no plan but the inspiration nature and the energy coming from the branches provides and found items I have collected on my walks. Time disappears for me in the studio and I am blissfully content working.

If you have some time please come and visit my fairy house studio here at Laurie Rohner Studio. Briar, fairy consultant and dear friend. Tucker, my furry companion, and myself hope you enjoy the visit.

Moss greens warm browns and white birch bark glisten in the sunlight as you stand looking at a road traveled less.

I would take this path each day with the boys my Standard Poodles on our daily hikes through my property, a peacefulness serene place to walk. While you gaze at the birches you can almost smell the sweet scent of the ferns drifting by on the warm breeze.
