TRUST that it’s all for your benefit.

“It’s so common for your world to just turn upside down when you really commit to raising your vibration. It’s no secret that thoughts are like magnets, so it’s impossible for people and life circumstances to stay the same when you change your mind and commit to a new belief. Embrace the change for a change and just allow in the new life that’s working its way into your experience and TRUST that it’s all for your benefit. I promise you it is.”

Life crossroads, confusing or inspiring?

“You are now at a crossroads. This is your opportunity to make the most important decision you will ever make. Forget your past. Who are you now? Who have you decided you really are now? Don’t think about who you have been. Who are you now? Who have you decided to become? Make this decision consciously. Make it carefully. Make it powerfully.”
Is your crossroads like this?

Afraid to make a decision or do you feel like this?

This is another way to focus.

I look for these signs to show me my way. Positive reinforcements are easier to navigate in life’s crossroads.

Is that okay?

“You must constantly ask yourself these questions: Who am I around? What are they doing to me? What have they got me reading? What have they got me saying? Where do they have me going? What do they have me thinking? And most important, what do they have me becoming? Then ask yourself the big question: Is that okay? Your life does not get better by chance, it gets better by change.”

When you’re happy for no reason, you bring happiness.

“When you’re happy for no reason, you bring happiness to your outer experiences rather than trying to extract happiness from them. You don’t need to manipulate the world around you to try to make yourself happy. You live from happiness, rather than for happiness.”

Marci Shimoff, is a motivational speaker and author. This quote comes from her book Happy For No Reason.

Animals are best at showing us being happy for no reason. It is obvious this polar bear is very content and happy. You can see the connection that happiness is making with the woman.

Again happy face, the connection is in the being and sharing of each other lives. Happy and being happy connects human beings on the soul level of all life.

This is a favorite image.

But there are times when no humans are necessary. Animals always know that connection and live from a happy place no matter what their circumstances. Lessons fellow humans can learn.

Part of the larger right.

A pair of Lowa hiking boots on red desert sand...

“When something seems to go wrong, it’s invariably part of a larger right.”

– Jed McKenna, author.

This morning I headed out the door with Tuck for his walk and it was a beautiful morning cold and crisp. The night before we had a few inches of snow fall and the trees were wrapped in white and sparkled as the sun was rising in the sky. The air smelled of winter a scent I rarely smell living where I am now. Tuck likes the cold and we headed down the street in absolute joy. I was maybe fifty feet down the road and I started to draw a breath in when I hit an icy patch of ice and down I went. I went straight down on my knee and my palm hit the road for support. Startled I quickly jumped to my feet and thought not too bad did not break a thing.

Now let me take you back a few minutes before I headed for the walk. I had an image flash in my head about slipping on ice because I was wearing sneakers instead of my hiking boots. I had dismissed the image and thought I did not want to be bothered putting on my boots. What if I had paid attention to my intuition would I have fallen? Do not know.

As I walked back to the house my knee was numbing up and my hand hurt a bit I thought about how I went down and found it was completely centered. My feet went off to the side because the road is pitched in that direction but as I realized I was slipping my leg folded and my knee hit the pavement directly underneath me. Nothing broke or cut or bruised even hours after the incident. By staying centered I prevented damage to my knee and by staying centered you can prevent damage to your life. When you are centered you pay attention to your instincts and to your surroundings. Another words I never would have fallen but because I stayed centered the damage was minimal. What went wrong became part of the larger right.

Which do you like better Twitter or Facebook?

Asked this the other day which do I like better Twitter or Facebook, my answer was Twitter. I use both. Facebook is nice to keep in touch with people you already know either as an acquaintance or personally but as far as fan pages and building clients it falls very short of my goal. I find it is more of a competition for how many likes and fans and friends you can get. I will be honest the only reason I joined was to promote my business and to reach more clientage and to find information improving my life and my work. What I found was idle nonsense. I really don’t want to read one more comment about dinner and who is meeting who and where I went for this that or anything else. But this is social networking. So I use Facebook as a backup to sending my info about my web sites and product and use HootSuite to post directly to my fan page. By the way I learned that from a seller on Etsy and how it has simplified my life. I know everyone thinks I am mad but does anyone read that trite, really?

Now on Twitter I have found even though there is a limit to what you can say in one shot it also forces you to get right to the point. I have found a wealth of information about things I find interesting and have connected with some wonderful web sites and people. Plus with Twitter expanding its capabilities of posting photos there is much you can share (I use TwitrPix Express). My time is of great value and I am sure it is for you too. I just feel Twitter gives me easy to use options and in no time I am good to go. I say what I want to say or share what I think is helpful and nice.

So that is my novice reason why I like Twitter over Facebook. It is simple in theory. Now I need to tweet this….

A passion finally comes alive.

A collection of cans of paint and other relate...

Last night I pulled out some of my old books on decorative painting and perused through them. I love to paint and create different finishes. My favorite artist is from England, Annie Sloane. She really gets into the basics and shows many techniques which I have employed on some of the earlier furniture restorations in my career. As I flipped through the pages I noticed how alive I was feeling my heart racing with enthusiasm and I thought about what I had in the studio. What kind of concoctions could I mix together for a finish that would enhance one piece or the other? What could I build or design to merge what I love? And then I thought is this my passion? Is this what floats my boat or gets my mojo going? Yup!

I have decided to fully be a decorative painter. It was a choice I made decades ago even when I ran my flower shop I was a decorative painter. Somehow I lost touch with the wish I had for being a creative artist. I will paint my paintings when the mood allows.  It is the study of wall fresco and plasters and woods being cut and paints being applied and creating something from a stick of wood that I find exciting. It is a passion, my passion. I have put my ego to the side and discovered an exciting wonderful truth.

How many of us have these ‘parent tapes’ endlessly playing in our heads or well-meaning people giving advise as they see it? These thoughts and words get caught up in our minds and if you allow them to take hold you start to live so. I know I have struggled with purpose and passion and why am I here for way too long. I am not a person who can just routinely go through life. You all know the type gets up goes to a job they hate comes home and well just exists. I need to know why are things the way they are. I need to keep pushing myself to be better than I was a moment ago. I need to ask questions and I need to figure out my answers. I do not think it matters how old or young you are to ask the questions. I think  to say because I am… (fill in the rest) and never bother asking is worst.

Most people would not want my life. Guess what it is not theirs it is mine, all mine, and it is wonderful. Enjoy life, live it with passion every moment you can and keep asking your questions and discovering your truths. It is worth it, I promise.

Fed Up and What now…

One more check on email and then it hit me…I am fed up. One after another telling how Medicare needs to be this and do you support that and we need your help and these people are whatever and on and on and on. Enough already we all get it the world needs help but I ask you does it really? Is everything going to end as you know it? Is the world going to end? Or is it Chicken Little again? It seems to me that if each individual took responsibility for the thoughts and actions they have made or are making and worked on improving themselves wouldn’t we all see an improvement? What comes to mind is an article I read the other day about the economy in the mid 70’s in the state of Texas and it mentioned the Savings and Loans Banks had all but disappeared, unemployment was 14% and inflation was the highest in the state’s history (including today) yet in the present Texas isn’t nearly as bad as it was in the mid 70’s. If you allow yourself to believe the media and this administration this obscure article isn’t reporting the truth. I can hear the masses saying well it is different today and it is far worse because …oh really. I was in my 20’s just starting out in the mid 70’s and I know it was much worse than it is today and I found work, supported myself and was content and happy because I didn’t hear every time you logged on or turned on the barrage of negative adolescent chatter.  Maybe today with information so accessible in order to keep people’s attention the news is exaggerated to a hypertensive state of mind which perpetuates the myth everything is about to get real bad IF we don’t do this NOW.

I am fed up with the world population constantly finding us (America) to blame for their problems and I am fed up with our government thinking they need to change the worlds mind so they will like us. Yes China may have bailed us out buying our bonds but that is all they bought and do I have to remind everyone they are still a communist nation with an appalling human rights record. What goes up must come down and I think China is not telling the world it’s truth. And then the middle east Iran in particular, in the 70’s they held our people hostage and they still have two hikers have we forgotten them? Iran is out to destabilize the region and we as a world power should think carefully about our allies, true allies, and support only them. To think when we helped the Iraqi people to become free we did so with the agreement that we would be compensated for our efforts and what did we get more hatred and the lives of our American men and women through death and hardship. War never is an answer and never achieves what is intended, peace.

There are so many areas in our lives that need fixing and it isn’t the economy, environment or governments. It is us the human race that needs fixing. I say let us join together and nurture each other, show compassion to the elderly, open a door for a person, smile and say hello, thank someone and mean it, show God how grateful you are for the life you have, be kind to nature and love every one of us who inhabit this universe. We need to stop trying to find the answers externally and focus on the hard questions internally. There aren’t any easy answers and none that fit everyone just hard work and a commitment to be better than you were today. I know the human race can do it. I know I can do it.

April Fools was on me.

I am not a big April Fools prankster but the universe yesterday was certainly having its fun with me. My day started just like any, got up, showered, dressed and headed down to make some breakfast for my self. Watch a little GMA and work up what needed doing for the day. Easy. Except yesterday my coffee maker decided to clog and wouldn’t brew and after fiddling around finally got a cup of coffee. Sat down ate breakfast and Tucker proceeded to come over and throw up in my lap. Not a big mess but had to clean up some and change my clothes. OK? Got my things together and I had to go out to ship a few things and some errands and I jumped into my CR-V and dead battery. UGH! I really have to use this car more. Pulled out the battery charger and hooked it up, no problem and I will be on my way in no time. Wrong. The plug I used outside wasn’t working, but I will save that for another time, disconnected plug and reconnected to extension and different plug. Yeah! Fifteen minutes later I am on the road driving around in circles making sure the battery is fully charged. When I got back home I put Charlie The CR-V away with the charger on all night. This morning good old Charlie started right up.

Maybe the joke was on me but I did have a good chuckle at the end of my day while sipping a nice glass of Chardonnay. That is the great thing  about April Fool’s Day it reminds us not to take life too seriously.

Here I go.

My first post, whoopee. I decided why not have a blog about just me. I have just as much to say as the next women and might discover I have more. This is my 5th blog site, the other four are all about art and business. I wanted to do something more me and about what I see in this world. What I see is hope and caring and beauty. Hearing of doom and gloom drains me. So I am going to write and show things that inspire me, things I am passionate about, things that say don’t give up it is all OK. I read an affirmation by Dr. Wayne Dyer every morning, by the way I love that guy and if you have no idea who he is check him out. I digress the saying goes like this ” All is perfect. God‘s love is everywhere and forgets no one. I trust in this force to guide me and I do not allow ego to enter now”.  Pretty good affirmation and what a nice way to start the day and to start this first post.

Blessings, L
